Great Migration Safaris
The Great Migration is a year-round ecological movement through the Serengeti–Mara ecosystem. The right region depends on rainfall, grazing and month of travel.
December to March: south
Ndutu and the southern short-grass plains are the main focus around the calving season, with large herds and predator activity across a wide landscape.
April to July: central and west
As the long rains shift and herds move north and west, Central Serengeti and the western corridor become increasingly relevant.
July to October: north
Northern Serengeti and the Mara River are the headline region. Crossings are unpredictable, so multiple nights are recommended and no operator should guarantee a specific event.
